Reading Time: 5 minutes Last night I attended the open house for the bidirectional MUP on Brookfield in the Brookfield High school cafeteria. Some of my friends went to this 1962 school in the seventies and eighties and it was interesting for me to see this heritage school from the inside. The National Holocaust Monument in Ottawa

Canadian National Holocaust Monument in Ottawa Open to Public

Reading Time: 5 minutes Last Thursday, September 28, 2017, was the first day that the public had access to the National Holocaust Monument in Ottawa. The monument was opened the day before. I cycled out to check it out and took photos for those who can’t make it to the monument. Special Act of Parliament I learned that the project was started by 18 year old Laura Grossman who thought it was a disgrace that there was no Holocaust monument in Canada. Hans on the Bike writes about cycling in the Ottawa-Gatineau National Capital Region in Canada. Stay up to date with cycling developments in this bike friendly city with hundreds of kilometres of pathways.

Hans on the Bike is not a very competitive cyclist; most of the time he is cycling around town doing errands or guiding tourists while waving to friends.

As a bicycle tour guide, he hears tons of great feed back from people from all over the world. Even from the Dutch! This is encouraging.

Ms. Hans on the Bike cycles too and is often the voluntold for Hans’ pictures. She famously declared she was not going to bike below +10C but lowered the treshold to -10C over time.
